Show Intramural sports: Programs for real Girls, it's time to quit complaining com-plaining about your flabby deposits and start doing something about them. Contrary to popular belief, an intramural sports program for women does exist on the University campus. Sue Hudson, the new director of women's recreation is concerned about the lack of participation in past programs. "I don't think it's due to lack of interest, I think most people are unaware that these programs exist." At the University of California at Davis, where Miss Hudson did her undergraduate work, powder puff football teams alone numbered 32. Miss Hudson has contacted the sororities and dormitories in an effort to set up and co-ordinate programs. "I realize that students have time conflicts and I am willing to listen to suggestions or answer any questions they might have. The programs are here to serve the students." This month's schedule includes powder puff football, tennis and volleyball. Powder puff play began on Oct. 16. Tennis entries are due Oct. 20 with play beginning on Oct. 24, and volleyball entries are due on Oct. 27 with play beginning Oct. 31. November's schedule will include badminton and turkey trot. Awards will be given on an individual and team level, and participation awards may be given to the organization with the most entries. Sue Hudson is certain that women will participate if given the chance. |
