Show DCE budget forces merge li' the light of their recent budget cut of $150,000, the Division of Continuing Education is hoping to combine creative and academic classes in order to maintain programs for the citizens of the community. The cut especially affects non-credit classes, those of interest to the off-campus community. Dean Sheffield stated, "DCE (Division of Continuing Education) allows the University to be directly responsible to the community needs and to violate or eliminate this responsibility would be extremely unfortunate. We are a state institution and as such as must concern ourselves with the community." In addition to combining classes, DCE has established a Developmental Fund to seek outside help.
