Show Examiners hold up suit on constitutionality of SBHE The State Board of lixamineis received a icqiiesl 1'ioin the Slate Board of Education Tuesday, for funds in hue an attorney lo prosecute the Slate Board of Higher I'ducalion. According to Dr. Waller D. Talbot, chairman of the Hi. ill Stale Board of Education, the board is pressing the case lo find out if ihe State Board of Higher Education is constitutional. Dr. Talbot said the Utah Constitution slates that the Stale lioaul of Education, an elected body, shall have jurisdiction over all insliliitiuns of learning in the stale. The Board of Examiners deferred any decision on Dr. Talhol's request until next week. This was done at the request of Scciclaiy of State Clyde Miller. Mr. Miller said he wanted to investigate the question further before voting. |
