On Aug. 5 the music department and Division of Continuing Education is bringing the chorus to town. Too good to pass up Boys choir coming Aug. 4 The Newark Boys' Chorus, a nationally-known youth singing group whose appearance is being sponsored by the Department of Music and the Division of Continuing Con-tinuing Education, will perform August 4 at 8: 1 5 p.m. at Cottonwood Cotton-wood Nigh School auditorium. "With the few comfortable summer facilities on campus all tied up, we decided that this chorus was too good to pass up, so we moved the concert off campus," explained Dr. Sherman B. Sheffield, DCE dean of the Division of Continuing Education. Educa-tion. The chorus, founded and directed dir-ected by James McCarthy, features fea-tures 30 boys between eight and fifteen years of age. They all live, sing and study together in a 20-room Georgian mansion in Newark, N.J. A Los Angeles music teacher for 10 years, McCarthy had long dreamed of putting together an American choral group that could rival the famed Vienna Boys' Choir. Scholarship-donation tickets are on sale at several locations including Clark Music at the Cottonwood Mall; Daynes Music, 145 S. State; Hart Bros. Music in Sugarhouse, Cottonwood Cotton-wood Mall and Valley Fair; BYU Salt Lake Center, 200 N. Main and at the door. Adult tickets cost $1.50 and student tickets $1 .
