Show Matmen ahead 25-0 going into ASU meet Utah's wrestling team already has scored 25 points against Arizona State in their meet to be staged at 1:30 p.m. in East gym 101 of the HPER complex today. In a rather unprecedented move the Sun Devils decided they could not fill five weight classes for the meet so the Utes receive five points apiece for each forfeit. What a way to start the day. Sporting a noteworthy 12-6 season record, the Redskin matmen appear to be a "slight favorite" to increase their winning ways to the odd number of 13 today. After dropping Idaho State and Wyoming last week the Marv Hess coached squad will end their dual meet season with the Sun Devils. Coach Hess seemed relieved after hearing of the forfeits. One of the forfeits was in the 126 lbs. class where Balvino Irizarry was scheduled to make his return alter sitting out three weeks with a sprained ankle. "This forfeit will give Irizarry a little more W to get his ankle back into shape before the conference champion; ships in Laramie next weeK, cornmenteHhoad |
