Show Sievart School remodeling to include auditorium, offices Remodeling will start soon on the auditorium in the old Stuart School on campus to make it more usuable and comfortable. The refurbished auditorium will serve as a lecture hall for theater, anthropology and science classes, and as a theater for small performances perfor-mances and practices. Total budget for the project is $68,000. Bruce Jensen of Campus Planning Plan-ning siad that in the course of the remodeling survey it was discovered dis-covered that the ceiling was high enough to allow the construction of a level above the auditorium for office space. An alternate proposal pro-posal bid of $19,000 for construction construc-tion of offices was turned down, however. The Department of Journalism had planned on moving into the space on the second level, but Mr Jensen said that it must wait until enough money can be obtained. The remodeling will include the installation of "bench-desks" in the auditorium and the construction construc-tion of the floor of the second level. I |
