Show Letters to tHe Edra Discussion Editor: As an unexpected treat, my 11 p.m. class Wednesday was led into a serious, organized discussion discus-sion of the events that have recently re-cently become heavily emphasized empha-sized on this campus. Although a mid-term is looming on the horizon, hor-izon, and the material needed to be covered, my instructor skillfully skill-fully stimulated and controlled the discussion and ignored his class notes. I must say that I learned more about the people in that class in a mere 40 minutes than I have in other classes in a full quarter, and to me, even though it won't help on the mid-term, it was one of the best educational experiences experi-ences I've ever had here. The quality of the opinions, the general gen-eral conduct of the class (with a few exceptions) and the results of SCVPral votes of opinion taken posed several surprises for me as a member of the Silent Apathetic Studentbody (SAS). As a result of this discussion I feel I can safely claim that the leftists are wrong in saying that SAS doesn't care and never will; and the Rightists are wrong in claiming that students are at least "pink", if not communist. I wish to thank the faculty and the administration ad-ministration for this opportunity for SAS to express our thoughts, our opinions and our feelings DEE M. HANSEN Unbiased faculty Editor: My view of the role of this University Uni-versity in society is the responsibility responsi-bility of the faculty to create a learning experience for students upon demand and funding from the local community.
