Despite her advances in the business world, she still faces disadvantages of working in a man's kingdom. , TT . .f Male students at the University, though, still find her place in the home with the family. Competing with women presents no problem, said Larry Orton, treasurer of Sigma Nu social fraternity. "It doesnt bother me. Most women aren t very smart. I don't think women should be in business. When it comes right down to it, women don't have an advantage." Girls still have a voice and they'll be heard if they have something that's worth hearing, said Harris Vincent, Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) Public Affairs Board member. "If women want a voice, they shouldn't give the image of a rattle brained cutie." "Women really don't have an advantage in business," stated Randy Hatch, Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity member. "I take the view that a woman should be in the home. But, whoever earns the money in the family should also make the decisions. I want to be the decision maker." Competition between the sexes is rooted in early childhood, said Pat Christ, ASUU Finance Board member. "Men and women have a hard time competing in school. It gets to be frustrating for boys." "But, it would be a mundane life," he continued, "if she has desires for a career. She should pursue a career except when her career supercedes the family." "If my wife earned more than me, I think I could live with it, but it would hurt my ego." Women in business seems to agree with Frank Overfelt, ASUU Programs Board chairman. "Women are the buffer in the alkaline solution. The thing I hate is competing with a man for a woman," he said. He believes that women are inhibited in their opportunity for advancement in business, because of prejudice toward their abilities. Vincent admires women who need others, yet have a basic grasp on reality. "I hope my wife will have a career. I hate to think her whole life would be confined between four walls of my house."
