Show Course evaluation books now on sale The fall quarter Course Evaluation Book went on sale Wednesday. The book is a compilation of student opinion about courses and instructors. All daytime courses are included in the book except for honors classes. The book can be obtained at the Union Huddle ticket booth and University Bookstore. Ed Catmull, chairman of the University Evaluation Program Staff, which puts out the book, expressed his satisfaction with the book and explained some "special projects" also executed by the staff. One cf these is a statistical analysis of the data to determine such things as the effect a size of a class has on its evaluation, the correlation of grades received to how the class was rated and the correlation of one scale to another on a given class. Other special projects include the processing of more detailed questionaires for individual departments and the formulation of a separate questionaire for seminar classes. Catmull said a mistake was made in the department designation of one of the top ten instructors announced last week. N. M. Larsen is in Child Development rather than Business Education. He also explained that l onors classes were not included in the Course Evaluation Book because of problems in the computer program that could not be solved in time. |
