Mount Ogden has been rated as one of the West's great ski mountains. i It has been the site for many national and international skiing events. Altitude ranges from 6,600 feet to 9,250 feet. . : Four double chairs, a single chair and a rope tow provide skiers with access to Snow Basin's 32 designated ski runs. . ' Great Hamburger . ' A day lodge, cafeteria, ski shop and rental service are available at the area. The Huntington Haus, a warming house, located midway on the upper run, cooks up one of the finest hamburgers in the West. Snow Basin is 19 miles east of Ogden. It takes about an hour to reach it by car from Salt Lake. Earl Miller directs the ski school at Snow Basin, and specializes in teaching racing. No lodging is available at the resort, but there are over 30 motels and hotels in Ogden. Snow Basin operates Tuesday through Sunday, but is closed on Mondays. |
