Show r Hoy 0D FJta! With a theme of UMan Power, Homecoming gets underway with festivities galour. Designed to welcome back all the alumni that keeps the UMan power of the university alive after graduation, Homecoming also resents a great opportunity for the university sL,& io i dge part of the generation gap that seems existent. Hundreds of Alums from all pari.. i: -untry will return to check out their campus and ij progress it has made since they left it in our hands; and this year the University and studentbody have many reasons to show off to their returning friends. With the addition of three new buildings and partial completion of two more, the campus scene has changed drastically since last Homecoming. Also the expansion of the student Union which many of the returning alumni contributed money and man hours to get built the first time is another feature which the University can be proud of. Also of interest to alumni is the acquisition of Fort Douglas land for a Research Industrial Park, which will add greatly to the University's progressive academic program. With new facilities and top-knotch professors, educational strides have been made. The student concern for the University manifests itself in ways other than buildings. A group of students interested in helping radio coverage of the campus organized a campus radio station. For returning fraternity and sorority alums the expansion of the Greek system with new colonies is another achievement. Homecoming activities are designed to sharpen the best points of the campus for the returning alumni from' Calvacade right through the Homecoming Dance. Though the only new activity this year is the Alumni House decorations, all the other traditional festivities have been expanded to emphasize the theme UMan Power. We encourage all alumni to become reacquainted with the campus through the Calvacade program. Then there's the chance for the Redskins to show their UMan Power by defeating the loyal "Nephites" of BYU. Tooted as the great fight between the Lamanites and the Nephites, alumni will see what progress our team has made. Homecoming this year appears to be the best ever. Don't miss all the events and fun. |
