Show Bennion lecture set Tuesday DeWitt J. Paul, chairman of the board, Beneficial finance Co., Morristown, N.J., will deliver the University s 12th annual Milton Bennion Memorial Lecture Tuesday, 8 p.m., Mark H. Greene Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Milton Bennion Memorial Foundation, a non-profit public service institution which annually brings to campus a distinguished citizen interested in education. Annual foundation lectures center on the importance of keeping American public education strong. A native Utahn, Mr. Paul began his 38-year career m consumer finance with Beneficial Finance Co in Salt Lake City. With that firm he has served as an investigator, office manager, regional and company-wide public relations director and vice president. In 1959 he was elected to the board of directors of the company in Wilmington, Del. Later that year he was made vice chairman of the board and, in 1963, he became chairman of the board of directors. He has been with Beneficial's East coast operations since 1944. Mr. Paul, who has attended the University, is chairman of the school's newly-formed National Advisory Council. He was also a delegate to the White House Conference on Education and a member of the steering committee for the 1950 White House Conference on Children and Youth. |
