Show Give Cops Dogs Editor: After all the silly furor over prices in the cafeteria, I wonder if anyone is interested in a serious issue. The situation in mind is the recent re-cent arming of the Campus Police. The reasons offered for this drastic dras-tic move do not appear sufficient to justify it. Why didn't the Security Division try issuing their night patrolmen a police dog instead of a revolver? Dogs have been used, with some success, in other places, including the Armed Forces. Perhaps a system similar to that of the British would be possible? Weapons might be kept in the Security Se-curity Building and only issued for the most serious occasions. James L. Stevens, Jr. |
