Show Harpers Bizarre To Perform At Lagoon Harpers Bizzare, appearing at Lagoon on May 11, shot into the national charts with their first recording, re-cording, "59th Street Bridge Song,, in January of 1967, and haven't stopped since. This West Coast group has gene out on its own limb for good music and a softer sound, and they have made it. All of the Harpers, with the exception ex-ception of John Peterson come from Santa Cruz, California. In 1964, four friends, Ted Templeman, Dick Yount, Dick Scoppettone, and Ed James, got together to form a group. They dubbed themselves The Tikis. The boys began touring Northern California, playing primarily & glish influenced music. In May, 1965, The Tikis signed with a San Francisco recorliij company, Autumn Records, itrt later sold out to Warner Mas, The Tikis recorded "59tli Sfe Bridge Song" On January 25, ffi the same day they changed the: name to Harpers Bizarre.
