Show FIRST SECURITY NOTES GROWTH Marked economic growth in the intermountain area is reflected reflect-ed in substantial gains in national na-tional bank rankings of First Security system of banks, Dean T. Malan, Bingham Canyon manager man-ager said Friday. The 1955 bank: rankings, according to amount of j deposits, was recently released by The American Banker. First Security Bank of Utah, N. A. moved up to 120th position among the nation's largest banks from a No. 135 rating in 1954. First Security is the largest intermountain in-termountain owned and operated bank in Utah. Mr. Malan noted that the combined com-bined deposits of First Security's system of banks in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming, would rank the system as No. 55 among the nation's na-tion's largest banks. . First Security's deposits at the end of 1955 totaled $411,166,468.-66, $411,166,468.-66, a gain of $48,537,741 over the 1954 figure. First Security showed an increase in-crease of 25,630 depositors during dur-ing 1955, bringing total depositors deposit-ors to 260,361. Number of customers cus-tomers receiving lpans climbed to 113,272, making a total of 373,633 customer accounts. The bank system's asset3 at the end of the year were $442,804,-236.02. $442,804,-236.02. These totals do not include those of The Commercial Bank of Utah, which, with , its eight branch banks, was acquired by First Security last month. |
