Show Nat'l Queen To Be Chosen The annual search is now underway under-way to select and honor the nation's na-tion's "outstanding college girl." Ycung women at the University are eligible as candidates. The winner will receive more than $5,000 in prizes, including a trip to Europe and an automobile. The 1968 National .College Queen Pageant will be held in June, and this year Pageant officials will award 50 free trips to New York City. One college girl from every state will be flown to Manhattan to compete for high honors. Judging is based on academic accomplishments, ac-complishments, on leadership qualities, quali-ties, as well as poise and personality. person-ality. The judges are seeking the typical college girl. The national finals will be held from June 8 through 18 and will include a coast-to-coast TV special on NBC, Monday, June 17. All undergraduate girls are eligible eligi-ble to participate. A candidate may send in her own name, or she can be recommended. Miss Judy Howe represented the University in the pageant last year and rated one of the three most outstanding students in the United States for 1967. ' |
