Show Twelfth Night' And 'Macbeth' ITo Return To PMT Stage 7P Py SIEGFRIED SCHNEIDER Chronicle Staff Writer .)ue to popular demand, "Twelfth ight" will be presented Dec. 1 affd 2 at 8 p.m. in the Babocck Theatre The-atre in the Pioneer Memorial Theatre The-atre and "Macbeth" will be pre-'sented pre-'sented Dec. 2 at 2 p.m., also in Babcock Theatre. Pioneer Memorial Theatre's 'Shakspearian Players will present ont more performance of Macbeth and two performances of Twelfth Night. The plays, directed by Dr. David E. Jones, have just returned from a road show appearance in Vernal and Price, Utah, where they were received with enthusiasm. The two Jones directed plays have been magnificently presented and have projected Dr. Jones well toward his goal "to develop a style adequate to Shakespeare." The Twelfth Night has been noted for its captivating scenes of music and mirth underlying with melancholy. melan-choly. The players in the poetic comedy have merged as lively individuals in-dividuals rather than mere servants serv-ants of the poet's imagination. The light and tripping style and musical musi-cal speeches just seem to roll off the actors' tongues. In contrast to the mirth of the Twelfth Night, Macbeth has been acclaimed for its startling realism in portraying the melancholy story of the troubled Scottish General. Shakespeare's Macbeth's central roles performed by Joseph Lambie and Linda Burt have been wrought - with power and dramatic fire. Some of the notable performers for both productions have been Dan Handley, John Wilkenson, Michael Evans, Harry Breaux, At-kin At-kin Pace, David Dean and many others. All actors, even extras, have been excellent. They have mastered a rigorous technique, enabling them to make every gesture inflection, gesture, and carriage inherent to their stage personalities. One could go on and on, but these two plays may undoubtedly be two of the best plays of the year so shouldn't be missed. Don't miss thy last chance! Donalbain (Howard Neslen) and Malcolm (Dan Handley, right) muse on the situation of the Scottish throne in the Pioneer Memorial Theatre Shakespeare Players production of "Macbeth," playing Saturday Sat-urday afternoon in the Babcock Theatre. The resident troupe, which recently toured in the Price and Vernal areas, will also present "Twelfth Night" Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. |
