" v" 1 - i' i' I II 111 I i r ; S "'- r' ' A new wrinkle will be introduced by the Republican State Committee at the party's State Convention, to be held tomorrow in the Union Building. All interested University students are invited to a Youth Rally at noon, the first of its kind in the state. STUDENTS ARE invited to register reg-ister at the Youth Rally table in the lobby at 9:30 and observe convention con-vention activities as the special guests of the party. This will allow students to observe the political process first-hand and involve themselves in the upcoming campaign. cam-paign. At noon the Rally itself will begin. be-gin. Senator Wallace F. Bennett, ' Rep. Laurence Burton and former Congressman Sherman P. Lloyd will speak. Ed Foreman, former congressman from Texas, will keynote the convention con-vention itself. A QUESTION and answer period will highlight the rally. A reception recep-tion will follow where students may meet the speakers and other party officials and ask questions or just get acquainted. All students, regardless of party affiliation, are invited. This is the first time a state convention con-vention of either party has specifically speci-fically invited young people to a youth-oriented rally. While the conventions con-ventions are open to the public, Chairman Richard Richards stressed that the rally was being held in recognition of the fact that students stu-dents are important in the political process. JANICE ROMNEY, State Vice-Chairman, Vice-Chairman, said that "the young people peo-ple have displayed such strong interest in-terest in county candidates and political issues, we feel the rally is needed to provide them with a forum in which they can get their questions answered and meet with the candidates."
