Show The Heat's On For June Jobs With summer just a few weeks off, students are bound to begin hunting for a job to take up their leisure tune. That in itself is not unusual. But the statement of one blond young thing leaves one to wonder just hew practical stu dents are. Turning to her friend she said. "I just know I can't miss on this job. Everyone who had it for those four weeks made over $500 in tips. Besides that, I get lunch free." A STATEMENT such as that led the Chronicle to do some investigating into what students stu-dents do during the summer. We found that restaurant jobs rank high as favorites on a girl's list of summer employment. employ-ment. She enjoys putting on tennis shoes, getting up with the first light of dawn, and going down to a Mam Street luncheonette to slap pancakes on a griddle and gossip with the kitchen help. Fellows go in. for manual labor. They water park lawns and play catch with a band of 12 year olds who hang out in the same area. But University seniors and wealthy freshmen travel to Europe.
