Show Water Chief To Discuss Development Aaron Wiener, director general gen-eral of water resources of Is--ael, will lecture at the University Univer-sity Thursday and Friday. Mr. Wiener's lectures will be based on a case history of Israel's development de-velopment of its water resources. On Thursday, he will speak at S p.m. in Orson Spencer Hall Auditorium and again at 2 p.m. m Friday, April 24, in the same location. The public is invited to attend both lectures free of 'harge. A gradute of the University ?rno, Czechoslovakia, Wiener ias designed and supervised civil engineering projects in Haifa; designed structures for the C.'R.L. Oil Refinery, Haifa: designed bridges in Upper Galilee; headed design and construction of military mili-tary installations for the British Army in Palestine. He has served as chief engineer for the Meko-roth Meko-roth Water Co. Ltd., and. in that capacity, has been in charge of design, construction and execution execu-tion of a number of major water supply and irrigation, projects, including those for the towns of Haifa, Jerusalem and Beer-sheba. Beer-sheba. He assumed his current post in 1956, and in this capacity is responsible for the design and supervision of the Jordan project proj-ect and other major Israeli water projects. The American Water Works Association, a scientific and professional pro-fessional society of more than 15,000 members interested in public water supply, is making genera! arrangements for Mr. Wiener's visit. The lecture tour is part of the Visiting Engineers Program administered by Engineers Engi-neers Joint Council of New York under a grant from the National Science Foundation. |
