Show Ridicule Dreamers? Dear Editor: I thoroughly agree with Mr. Walden's Letter to the Editor on Feb. 3. It has been shown throughout through-out history that the "dreamers" and "radical thinkers" think-ers" prove to be correct in the end. Borne of the most famous "dreamers" were not only scoffed at but often persecuted: Lavoisier, Copernicus, Socrates, Socra-tes, and Archimedes to name a few. As our forefathers fore-fathers should not have pooh-poohed the "dreamers" "dream-ers" of their time, we should not ridicule Dr. Cook's views, but should, rather, accept them all. Any man like Dr. Cook, who claimed that water can support only twenty feet of ice (American Meteorological Society meeting, 12 December 1963) surely must be a dreamer! ! ! John M. Hobbie |
