Show Fish and Game Laws Explained 'In Brief A recap of Utah's fish and game seasons was issued today by the department of fish and game. General trout season Ends Oct. 14. Some waters over the state remain open to year round fishing. Archery deer season Statewide State-wide beginning Sept. 1 through Sept. 16. Morning dove season Sept. 1 through 16 in Beaver County. Elk season Gentral hunt begins Oct. 6, with several earlier and one later season. Waterfowl season Oct. 13 through Dec. 31, except the hunting of geese ends Dec. 15. General deer season Oct. 20 through Oct. 30. One regular reg-ular license and three special permit hunts start as early as Sept. 22-. Regular licenst hunts on four herd areas begin Oct. 13. Shorter seasons, longer long-er season, special permit, extra doe, and extended week end hunts are set for several heard units over the state. The department again urged sportsmen to know the rults and regulations covering each season sea-son thay plan to take part in. These regulations, including shooting hours, season dates, limits, legal equipment, and all other controls, are changed each year to fit the best-necessary harvest pattern. All are shown in the annual proclamations covering each outdoor season.
