Show mhw miiiiiimhii mm ii m But 9 Jt&ari& Carlyle Gronning, our candidate candi-date for Representative in Congress Con-gress on the Democratic ticket, is wisely starting his campaign early, in an unobtrusive sort of way, by making appearances throuhout the district, sometimes some-times making addresses but mostly just seeing and being seen, and meeting folks. Last week end he keynoted a convention session over at Price, and we understand that although several "names" were present, Carlyle's talk was regarded re-garded as "the" political talk of the day. Had a chat with Abe Mur-dock Mur-dock over at Beaver the other evening, and the former U S Senator (now chairman of the National Labor Relations Board) was quite interested in Carlyle, Car-lyle, and we understand he will assist our local candidate's campaign. Saturday, August 4, the Mil-" Mil-" ford Volunteer Fire Department Depart-ment will sponsor a dance in Legion Hall, to raise funds for fire department activities. Advance ticket sales are not encouraging, and the fire laddies lad-dies have actually been answered an-swered with flat "NO!" on occasion occa-sion when they presented tickets for sale. Once again we remind the citizens of Milford that, because of the efficiency of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department, we enjoy one of the lowest fire insurance in-surance rates in the west. If these boys were not really efficient, effi-cient, you would be paying in increased fire insurance rates, many times the cost of a dance ticket. Every property owner should buy a ticket, even if they know they cannot attend the dance. And not as a "donation" "dona-tion" just as a small "commission" "commis-sion" on those low fire insurance insur-ance rates. Have the firemen ever tod YOU or any Milford citizen i "NO" when they were called to extinguish a fire? , |
