Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mapes of Huntington Park, Calif., are in Milford visiting, and enjoying the fishing. They are house guests of Mrs. Josephine Thompson, Thomp-son, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schramm, and Mr. and Mrs. Theman Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones are Donna Tolley spent three days last week in Salt Lake visiting vis-iting frietids and relatives. Ray Rogers and Randy Morris Mor-ris are in San Diego taking their basic training in the U S Navy. Recent visitors at the home of Dr. and Mrs. David A. Symond were Mr. and Mrs. Curt Wooden Wood-en and three chlidren of Phoenix, Phoe-nix, Ariz. 15-year-old Patty remained re-mained with the Symonds, and will take a nurseette course at the Beaver County Hospital. Dr. David A. Symond left last Friday for a week in Chicago, where he will attend the national nation-al convention of the American Medical Ass'n. He will return to Milford Sunday. Young Mike accompanied his dad . on the trip. Capt. and Mrs. Vernon Hughes and two children, Beverly and Valorie, were here for a week, en route to Great Falls, Mont. Douglas Memmott, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Memmott, is taking a business course at the L D S Business College in Salt Lake. Laura Marie Jimerson, daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. George Jimerson, is home for the summer. She has been attending Judge Memorial school in Salt Lake . Mrs. D. H. Dickenson and children of Tucson, Ariz., spent a few days with Mrs. Dicker-son's Dicker-son's son and family, Dr. and Mrs. DavidA. Symond. 6-year-old Adrienne will spend the summer with Dr. and Mrs. Symond. Sy-mond. Mr. and Mrs. William Maurice Maur-ice Gray and baby son Layne have moved- to Lavanie, Calif., where Mr. Gray is employed by a mining company. Nelson Carlyle Stott is in Mitford for the summer, after attending the U S A C the past school year. Carlyle is employed THE MARRIAGE of Miss Patsy Ann James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. James, and Mr. Nathan B. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan E. Smith all of Milford, took place June 4th at Las Vegas. The couple were married in The Little Lit-tle Chapel Around the Corner, with Donald B. Crane, bishop of Las Vegas First Ward, performing perform-ing the ceremony. The bride wore a white ballerina bal-lerina length dress with red roses and gold print, and a matching duster. She wore an orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Swin-dlehurst Swin-dlehurst acted as maid of honor and best man at the ceremony. Parents of the couple also were present. A bridal shower was given Saturday 'for the new Mrs. Smith by parents of the couple and Mrs. James Holm. Many lovely presents were received. Parlor card games were played, and a luncheon served after the prizes were awarded. A wedding dinner was served Sunday, honoring the couple, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Holm. MRS. LOIS MOORE and Mrs. Hilda Shields entertained their pinochle club at the Hong Kong Cafe Tuesday night. A Chinese dinner was served to the hostesses, host-esses, Mrs. Cleo Labium, Mrs. Mary McCulley, Mrs. Marian Miller, Mrs. Margaret Lund, Mrs. Virginia Fowles and Mrs. Dorothy Morris. The ladies played pinochle after enjoying the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cllne and Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Hickman will leave Friday to attend the Utah Bankers Ass'n. convention at Jackson Hole, Wyo. THE REGULAR meeting of the Milford B P W club was held Tuseday, June 11, at the home of Lillian Anderson. The meeting was the annual business meeting of the club, at which a report was made of the year's activities, and plans laid for the coming year's program. Delegates were named to. attend at-tend the state convention, June 15-17, at Logan. The next meeting will be a picnic social to be held in July. Delegates to the state convention conven-tion are Lillian Anderson, Laura Delgardo and Naomi Hughes. Anna Stark of Beaver, state membership chairman, is a candidate can-didate for state second vice president. Recently installed as new officers of-ficers for the 1956-57 year were Laura Delgardo, president; Hazel Ha-zel Hillman, vice president, Si-donia Si-donia Whiting, corresponding secretary; Naomi Hughes, . recording re-cording secretary, and Anis Openshaw, treasurer. Lola Hollingshead has just returned re-turned to duty after an extended tour of various points of interest in Southern Utah, and attending the annual Caliente homecoming. homecom-ing. Mrs. Anis Openshaw spent a portion of her yearly vacation visiting with her friends and family in Salt Lake, American Fork, and Lindon. Gayle Gale is spending her vacation resting. She enjoyed a week end at Panguitch and Puffer's Lake, fishing. Mrs. L. B. Bonn, former Milford Mil-ford resident, passed away in North Hollywood last Thursday evening. Mr. Bohn died three months ago. NEIGHBORS of the Eppich family gave them a farewell picnic super and social at Ranch Canyon last Thursday night. Enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Rosslyn Eppich and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Baudino and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Moore and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Walker and family, Mrs. Paul Wyatt and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter McCulley and family. A going away present was presented to the Eppichs during the evening, and after the delicious deli-cious supper, visiting was enjoyed. en-joyed. Recent visitors at the Mitch- j ell White home were Mrs. White's sister, Mrs. Eleanor Critchlow and daughter Nonya Ree, of Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Force of Modena. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes will leave this week for Logan, where Mr. Hughes will attend an extention course in counselling counsell-ing work at the U S A C. Mrs. Frank Stewart returned last Saturday from Salt Lake, where she visited Mr. and Mrs. Bud Carson and daughter Susan. Mrs. Stewart also underwent a minor foot operation while in the Capitol City. Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham spent a week in Southern California. Cali-fornia. In Alhambra she visited visit-ed a daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Nichols, and also enjoyed visits in North Hollywood Holly-wood and Los Angeles. Mrs. George Smith, and Mrs. Beth Lund of Salt Lake, were in Ogden to see Georgia Beth board her train for the United Nations trip. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Foss and daughter Suzan of Salt Lake were in Milford renewing old friendships. They spent last Saturday visiting at the Smith-son Smith-son Ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Evans and family are now living in American Amer-ican Fork where Mr. Evans is employed in a grocery store. |
