Show E S A Sorority Purchases Swings and Slide for Park Milford's Epsilon Sigma Al- 4 pha sorority has just completed com-pleted their 1956 community betterment project installation installa-tion of $300 worth of playground play-ground equipment in Legion Park, near the swimming pool. Each year the ladies devote much personal time and effort to fund-raising activities, and use the proceeds for improvement improve-ment of the community. This year they purchased a set of four swings on a steel frame, and a new-type children's slide, made of metal alloy and cast in one piece, so there is , no danger of edges bending or becoming jagged and scratching scratch-ing or cutting children using the slide. The swings are of : sturdy steel construction, with steel chain ropes. Proceeds from a fashion show last fall, half the net proceeds from a minstrel show (the other half went to the polio fund) and about $30 realized from a bake sale added up to the $300 necessary neces-sary to purchase the equipment. equip-ment. Last year, as their 1955 project, the ladies contributed $300 to the school library fund. |
