Show STREET OILING TO START MAY 1 Paving of 9,000 feet of Mil-ford Mil-ford city streets will begin about May 1st, it was announced this week by Wes Bolton, city streets councilman. "All curbings should be in and the forms stripped off before be-fore that date," Mr. Bolton said, "so the work will not be held up or hampered in any way. The equipment we use in the oiling program is expensive, and any delays of any kind just cost the city more money, and result in less efficiency on the part of the street department, and less service we can give the residents of Milford." . City Councilman Bud Bown announced completion of the new sewer work in the western part of town, including laying of 1200 feet of new 6-inch sewer pipe, at a depth of 9 ft., replacing old smaller line that was only IV2 feet below the surface. Also, Mr. Bown said, 550 feet of new water line was laid along the same street, and the 8-inch line on 200 West street had been repaired, with all new joints installed. "With the new lines laid in ahead of the oiling," Mr. Bown pointed out, "it will be unlikely that it will be necessary to dig up the pavement for repairs, etc., 'for many years to come." |
