Rich virgin soil produces high yields of potato pota-to s, alfalfa, alfalfa seed, grains and vegetables. More than 12,000 acres are now under cultivation, using deep well and gravity surface water for irrigation. Estimates of the 1955 acreage are 5,000 acr.s grain (weat, oats, rye, bar-Icy, bar-Icy, flax, etc.), 5,000 acres alfalfa al-falfa hay, 500 acres alfalta seed, 1600 acres potatoes, ajid the balance in pasture. Each year additional land is scraped clear of its sagebrush and tumbleweed covering, leveled lev-eled with huge land planes and dirt-moving equipment, and seeded to grain, potatoes or hay.
