Show i mniimiM w j By STEVE WILLIAMS So now it's summer and all the kids will slam the doors they left open all winter. A BOY was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright of Milford, June 5th, in the Iron County Hospital. And according- to Morgan Rollo's Iron County Record it is the first time in many, many months that only one baby was born at the hospital during the ; entire week. j I Chuck Atkin and EIRoy Nel- son asked us to be sure to convey con-vey their thanks to the Volunteer Volun-teer Fireman and "all others ' who helped out when we had the fire last week." EIRoy said he didn't see how professional, full-time firemen could beat these Milford volunteers volun-teers at getting to a fire promptly, prompt-ly, and efficiently attacking the blaze. Major loss was to office equipment, and the roof. The fire is belieevd to have started from faulty wiring. They tell me a woman is definitely defi-nitely getting older when she starts worrying more about how her shoes fit than her sweater. We love these: Dear Mr. Williams and Fine People of Milford: You have a splendid paper . and we look forward to receiving receiv-ing The News each week. The teachers and townspeople townspeo-ple are to be -congratulated for the exemplary work of your schools; also the Milford community com-munity for the road improvement, improve-ment, street numbering and other commendable projects you have undertaken. Best, wishes for the continuous continu-ous growth of your city and happiness of the citizenry. A Milford Booster, GRACE GEIST and Family. 56 West 700 North Orem, Utah. and . . . i Dear Mr. Williams: Enclosing $3 for my renewal to The News. We enjoy the paper very much. It's nice to keep in touch with old friends and hear of the growing improvements of Milford. We want to say thanks to you and yours. May see you in July if we come to Utah. MR. AND MRS. HORACE CORBRIDGE. Ridgecrest, Calif. How many of us have that j type of real friend who under-1 stands us and still is? j I Mrs. Frank Lewis called our attention to a Salt Laice Tribune Trib-une ad stating that the Utah Hay Producers' Ass'n. has set a minimum price of $25 a ton for hay in the field. If all hay farmers stick to that price they can make money on their hay. Don't know that many Milford Mil-ford folks will be attending, but the eighth annual U of U Writers Conference will be held in St. Lake June 27 to July 9. Five prominent authors will be featured, and the conference is geared for readers as well as writers. City Marshal Ronald Gale issued is-sued a warning today to motorists motor-ists who trail the patrol car en route to house calls and accident, ac-cident, etc. If necessary, the marshal said, citations will be issued to offenders. In other worc's when the prowl car goes out it's police business, not public business. |
