Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Roberts, i grandparents of Ted Garrett, are proud to announce that he has been awarded the school letter in track, and basketball at Beaver High school, o Minersville's birthday on May 17th (97 years) went over with a bang. A large crowd attended. at-tended. The older folks were seated at a special table and of course everyone enjoyed a dinner din-ner consisting of roast pork and dressing, vegetables, salad, hot rclls, delicious pie and cake of all kinds. After dinner they were entertained by the Stake festival dancers, Emma Davis, d:recting. Also a dialog of The Mormon Battalion. Those taking tak-ing part were Mrs. Nellie Hol-lingshead, Hol-lingshead, master of ceremonies: ceremo-nies: Chas. K. Jameson as Capt. I Mrs. Edna Rollins Worthing- ton of Azusa, Calif., has visited here the past week with her ! brothers and s'ter. She came to I attend the funeral of Vern Rol-' Rol-' nins. She will leave in a few days for her home. Mrs. Armina Banks will be honored with a missionary fare- I well party June 3rd in the L ' D S Church. She will depart I immediately afterwards for her ' training at Salt Lake, prior to leaving for the California mis-! mis-! sion. Eveyone is cordially invited. in-vited. All the children of Mrs. Ellen Fox have been here the past 10 days to visit at the bedside of their mother, who has been con-! con-! fined to the Milford Hospital. I While here they have done the painting and housecleaning, so t when Mom comes home she and Dad can enjoy themselves. Sunday afternoon the Dotson family got together at the heme of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis of Milford (including a s:r;ter from Pioche, Mrs. Elma Freeman). Free-man). Mrs. Davis served a lovely hot dinner. Bishop Dotson and family will leave Wednesday for Salt Lake to attend the Postmasters Convention at Provo. Mrs. Dot-son's Dot-son's folks live in Salt Lake. Mrs. Loneva Banks has returned re-turned home after a brief v'sit with her children in the northern north-ern part of the state. Mr. Banks accompanied her for the first half of the visit. Mrs. Kathleen Skougard, daughter of Inez Myers Skougard, Skou-gard, gave birth to a 9 lb baby boy last week. |
