Show i MILFORD TRACK SQUAD 'PLACES AT PROVO The Milford High School track team didn't win the track meet at Provo last week, but none of their supporters are "feeling bad" about their showing. show-ing. Except for a bad break or two, they would have finished much higher in the standings. The sen;or high medley relay I team won their trial heat, and finished second In the finals. Vee Wadsworth took fourth place in the javelin throw, and was beat out by one-half inch for fifth place in the broad jump. Vee might have bettered ', has javelin mark in the finals, but could not compete, as the broad jump and javelin finals were staged at the same time. Gary Chamberlain took third in the 440, and Craig Mortensen finished second in the 220. ' Clair Williams was leading by several yards in the 220, but about 10 yards from the finish line stumbled, and stumbled the rest of the way before falling fall-ing across the finish line. His ankle was still weak from the injury he received at the St. George meet, which accounted for the stumble and the loss of first place in that event. Next event for the Tiger tracksters will be the district meet at Delta, May 6th and 7th. ''We know we aren't going to win it," Coach Lee Pettey said, "but we will place in several events and may take a few firsts." |
