All j ;nipils had a part in the play, which was in the form of a court trial, and everyone also I 'lad another part on tho pro- I ;ram or some other task in connection con-nection with the assembly. j The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Allen Mahoney and Rodney Rod-ney Ogden, members of the Boy Scouts. Caroline Marshall gave the invocation, and Mare Barton Bar-ton introduced tho program with her original poem titled "We Give You a Valentine." Following this was a reading, read-ing, "When My Papa Was a Boy," by Allen Mahoney: a ,-kit, "Her Name," by Sherman i Myers and Barbara Jones; a J song, "Let the Sun Shine In," I by Betty Jean Bills. I Next was the "Court of Last J Resort," in which "The Case of I the Missing Glass Slippers" was ' tried with all members of the I class participating. All pupils were outstanding, in their parts. Michael Gale as I I Fearless, the Guard; Dennis I Sunpkins as Judge Fuss, Allen 1 Mahoney ns King's Attorney, Trena Gronning as the Princess, I Tod Posey as the Prince, Rod- ncy Ogden as the clerk, and Mitchell Baxter us the Shoeman all had lead parts. The Jury I probably got most laughs, as ' they constantly gave Judge Fuss a bad time. Other numbers on the program pro-gram were: Song, "I Need You I Now," by Julia Rae Banks, 'Marie Barton and Sharon Nichols; Nich-ols; talk, "Our Citizenship Project, Proj-ect, by Freddie Steinfels; reading, read-ing, "The Baffled Champion," I by Dennis Simpkins; music, "Madgelin Waltz," by Teddy i Posey, Freddie Steinfels, and Mitchell Baxter; reading, "Patsy "Pat-sy Ruth Tells the Truth," by Margaret Ann Whittaker; and a Valentine story, "Juan Brings a Valentine," by Beth DeLouw. Following the program, Valentines Val-entines were presented to pupils for Citizenship, Courtesy and Kindness. Forty pupils were selected bv their classmates in each room for their acts of citizenship, citi-zenship, courtesy, and kindness. The assembly was planned to emphasize good citizenship, which is being stressed in the grade school this month. Members of this section of the sixth grade are Margaret Ann Whittaker, Dianne Turner, Freddie Steinfels, Dennis Sim kins, Nell Puffer, Teddy Posey. Rodney Ogden, Sharon Nichols, Sherman Myers, Dennis Miller, Carolme Marshall, Allen Mahoney, Ma-honey, Barbara Jones, Zola Hollingshead, Trena Gronning, Michael Gale, Beth DeLeuw, Jeaniel Davis, Billie Ann Car-'er, Car-'er, Roserf.iry Busico, Betty Joan Bills, Mitchell Bax'.er, Marie Barton, and Julia Rae Banks. Mr. Curn Harvey is the teacher, and Mrs. Barton and Mrs. Posey are the Home lipom Mothers. |
