Show ices. - Mrs. Lucy Williams was in Salt Lake last week, where she attended a two-day political school. She traveled home with the Lewis Griffiths of Salt Lake. ' Jan Truman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Truman, celebrated celebrat-ed her seventh birthday last week. A party was given in her honor, which all her' friends greatly enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Vendon Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Myers spent the week-end in Las Vegas visiting a sister Claudia, and her family. Base. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Griffiths of Salt Lake spent the week-end in Minersville as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Heslington. Sunday theywere dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Williams. Stephen Hollingshead, retired farmer and stockman, recently celebrated his 77th birthday at a family dinner given in his honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Hollingshead. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Albrecht and family were in attendance. A life-long resident of Minersville, Mr. Hollingshead engaged in hauling freight to Frisco in his early years and was also employed em-ployed by the railroad. A civic minded person, Mr. Hollingshead enjoys a fine reputation and has always taken part in affairs of the community. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Fordham of Milford were in attendance at Sunday evening church serv- A party honoring the new Mrs. Van Davis was held Friday evening eve-ning in the school house. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married in September at Ely, Nev. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott of Milford, while Van is the youngest son of Mrs. Chloe Davis. The newlyweds have an apartment in the Davis home. Mrs. Lillian McKnight was in charge of, an interesting program given during the evening, and parlor games were played with Mrs. Yvonne Murdock and Mrs. Vie Louise Marshall claiming the prizes. A lovely' plate lunch was served to the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hardy of Milford were visitors in Minersville Miners-ville on Monday, calling at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks. Speaker at Sunday evening ' services was Elder Howard Heslington, Hes-lington, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Heslington, who recently re-cently returned from a mission in England. The following persons were appointed to fill vacancies: Mrs. Ada Edwards, teachers training executive; Mrs. Fontella Dotson, first counselor; Mrs. Betty Bonner, Bon-ner, second counselor; and Mrs. Pearl Kelsey, secretary-treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Baker of Los Angeles visited in M:ners-ville M:ners-ville with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker, en route to Salt Lake to meet their daughter, a returned missionary. The Marshall family seem to be having their share of trouble. Jeff Marshall and Sheral Carter were trying to catch a lamb when they collided. Jeff suffered several broken ribs and possibly other injuries. He was ,treated at the Beaver County Clinic. Guy Heslington and Vern Wooa, sons of Mr. . and Mrs. Allied Heslington and Mr. and Mrs. William Wood, respectively, j-e attending B C at Cedar City. The boys spent the week-cflu week-cflu here visaing their families. Mr, and Mrs. Wayne Gillins and Mrs. Bex-nice Gillins arrived nome Sunday evening from Salt Lake, bringing 'iy home again from the L D S Hospital. Although Al-though able to move about some, Clarence will be confined io his home for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson of Milford and son Leland of Salt Lake visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn.
