Tuesday evening, Aug. 12th, the Fireside groups of the First and Second wards met at the swimming pool and after the swim a social was held in honor of Gerald and Janet Stoker. Gerald Ger-ald left Monday to enter the armed forces. There was a large crowd on hand, and lunch and ice cream was served. A lovely leather wallet was presented to Gerald by little Michael Jones, his nephew, a gift from the group. We wish Gerald the best of everything and hope he will soon return. The Fireside group met at the home of Melpha Lyman immediately imme-diately after church Sunday evening. eve-ning. Due to renovation of the chapel the meetings are being held in the Recreation Hall. All who ca nare urged to come and help clean and repair the chapel and the new fixtures. This has been the aim of the wards for some time, so come on and all and help with this work. Aug. 30th the Beaver Stake has been asked to help clean the ! St. George Temple. You will have to have a recommend to do this work. Let's have a good crowd from the Second Ward. Watch for this date Fall Festival, Sept. 26th. More about it later. I Priesthood meeting at Beaver Thursday, Aug. 28th. All members mem-bers of Priesthood are asked to be in attendance. Bro. DeWayne Baldwin was speaker of the evening at sacrament sacra-ment service Sunday. This young man, who recently returned from a mission, is a very fluent speaker, speak-er, and told of his many interesting interest-ing experiences. He was accompanied to Milford Mil-ford by his parents. - . |
