Show Seconb Marb By MRS. GERTRUDE FISHER The Second Ward Welfare meeting convened Sunday morning. morn-ing. The lesson was given by Helen Gillins. There were six members in attendance. Sunday School was held at 11:30 a. m. Sunday. The 2Vz-minute 2Vz-minute talk was given by Roger Myers. Orrin Memmott gave the invocation, and Hyrum Davis Da-vis the benediction. Fast and Testimony meeting was held after Sunday School. Talks were given by Calvin Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, Bishop Elmer, Sisters McCulley, Ireta Zabriskie, Helen Gillins, Forence Myers, Jane Myers, Elva Lofthouse, Osborne Mathison, Patricia Wiicock, Jennie Sue Smith, and John W. Myers. The invocation was by A. A. Jones ,and the benediction by Lorraine Gillins. Two Fireside groups were held in the Second Ward Sunday, Sun-day, one at the Patsy James home and one at the Owen Stoker home. Dr. Davie was guest speaker at the James home, and talked about the Navajo Indians and their customs. cus-toms. He exhibited his collection of Navajo jewelry. Patsy James was hostess. Six members were present at the stoker home, to enjoy the evening and the refreshments served by Jeannette and Gerald. Sunday evening services were under direction of the Fireside group. Jeanette Stoker, and Fay Berger and Ruth Lish presented musical numbers, and Boyd Evans and Ira M. Fisher made short talks. The meeting was conducted by Lorraine Gillins. Bishop Elmer gave a talk at the First Ward Fireside meeting on Sunday evening. Primary Preparation meeting on June 2 at the home of Irene Posey. Velma Patterson assisted assist-ed with refreshments. There were 12 members present. ' The lesson was given by Beth Fisher and Myrtle Hansen. There will be a Stake Genealogical Geneal-ogical convention in Beaver next Sunday, June 8th. First meeting will be held in the Seminary building at 10 o'clock. The 2 o'clock meeting will be in the First-Third Ward chapel. All interested in this work are invited to attend. 1 |
