Other players included Mrs. Fonda Magill, Mrs. Elaine Archer, Arch-er, Mrs. Jeanette Kohler, Mrs. Mildred Coon and Mrs. Kate McDonald. Mrs. Haynie served refreshments refresh-ments after the game of cards. BUFFET dinner was served by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline at , their home last Saturday eve- I ning, honoring their son, Lt. Dan I Gillies, who recently returned j from Korea. Enjoying the evening were Lt. j and Mrs. Gillies, Mr. and Mrs. ! C. R. Grimshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Harold CMne, Mr. and Mrs. ' George Jefferson, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Zabriskie, Mr and Mrs. Claude Horton, Mrs. Edith Os-born, Os-born, and Mr. and Mrs. Dern Osborn of Beaver. . i EIGHT - YEAR - OLD LOLA LAMB, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lamb, celebrated her second birth anniversary last Saturday, Feb. 29th. On hand to join in the festivities, l and celebrate his own anniversary, anniver-sary, was Lola's dad, Norman, who was also born on Feb. 29th 1 and was enjoying his eighth : anniversary. Both "leap year babies" were born in Salt Lake City, Norman in 1920 and Lola in 1944. After school i Lola's friends were invited to an anniversary party, and enjoyed playing parlor games decked out in festive fes-tive holiday hats. Julia Rae Banks, Sheila Dalton and Clark Dalton won the prizes. j Children attending the import- J ant occasion, and enjoying the birthday cake, lolly pops and ice cream, were Linda Anderson, Ander-son, Linda Lou Williams, Lani Baxter, Connie Marshall,, Janice Terry, Anna Marie Jones, Betty Cook, Veda Cox, ShePa Dalton, Marilyn Moore, Joyce Moore, Linda Moore, Judy Arnold, Kar-pn Kar-pn Baudino, Carol Arnold, Julia Rae Banks, Kaye Root, Joy Miller, Mil-ler, Roger Menimott, Brad Weston, Wes-ton, Clark Dalton, Butch Williams, Wil-liams, Gary Banks, Sue Ann Banks, Harlen Thomas, Dean Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Freddie Fred-die Miller Arlen Marshall, Oren Sly and Vickie Lamb. Ladies present included Mrs. Carol Ann Pearson and baby Randy, Grandma Davis and Sandra Davis of Minersville, Mrs. Lois Moore, Mrs. Bertha Moore and Mrs. Lola Banks. MRS. ENID JOHNSON, Mrs. Verle Horton and Mrs. Selma Kirk were hostesses for the Lady Lions dinner and social last Tuesday evening. The table was cleverly decorated in the Washington's Birthday motif. Centering the table was an arrangement ar-rangement of spring flowers. Cand'es wrapped with red, white and blue ribbon were placed around the centerpiece, and the favors were miniature tree trunks of candy bars and paper hatchets. After the short business meeting meet-ing conducted by President Mrs. Hazel Hillman, the ladies played hearts. Mrs. Patricia Williams. Mrs. Doris Gustavson and Mrs. Loretta Cline won the prizes. MRS. EVELYN CARLE of Salt Lake City, grand lecturer of the Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Utah, was entertained enter-tained Tuesday by Ruth Chapter Chap-ter No. 6. Mrs .Carle held a school of instruction for the local officers in the afternon. At 7 o'clock a delicious pot-luck pot-luck dinner was served to 40 members and guests. The usual business meeting was held in the evening, and the floor work was well exemplified. The grand leciurer brought a very, outstanding message to the chapter, chap-ter, which was well received. Mrs. Margaret Rohn, past worthy grand matron, who was also a guest, added a few well-chosen well-chosen remarks to the discussion. discus-sion. Coffee and cookies were served at the close of the meeting meet-ing and everyone enjoyed- a friendly visit. We were very happy to welcome wel-come Capt. J. G. Charchalis, hus- band of our worthy matron, who has but recently returned from a long stay in Korea. Mr. Carle also came to share the late refreshments. re-freshments. Altogether it was a very pleasant pleas-ant and gratifying evening, and once more demonstrated the real value of fraternal comradeship. com-radeship.
