EMILY GILLINS Milford News Minersville Editor "i 1 The Minersville M-Men team returned home late Sunday after a, thrilling week at Salt Lake City where they participated in the National M-Men tournament sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The team lost the first game to Redondo, but in the consolation bracket went on to py for the consolation championship, losing los-ing in the final round. The fighting team returned home with the most cherished award for Good Sportsmanship, for which they and the residents of Minersville are very proud. Robinson gave the visiting teachers lesson. Mrs. Marie Rollins celebrated her birthday Sunday at her home and invited members of her family to a lovely hot dinner. din-ner. Those able to come were Mr. and Mrs. A. B. CHne, Mrs. Mildred Pickard, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bohn, Mrs. Al Hoffpier, Mr. and Mrs. William Hutchings of Beaver and Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Baker. Mrs. Rollins received re-ceived many lovely gifts. The family enjoyed the remainder of the day visiting. Sunday evening the Miners-vfle Miners-vfle Relief Society, under direction di-rection of President Frieda Wood, presented a program outlining out-lining the family hour. Taking pait in the program were Mrs. Paulina Carter, Mrs. Charlene Heslington, the Singing Mothers directed by Mrs. Melba Baker and accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Phyl-lis Truman, Mrs. Vergene Jameson, Jame-son, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood and family, and Mrs. Nellie Hol-lingshead. Hol-lingshead. Regular Relief Society meeting meet-ing was held Tuesday afternoon with Counselor Mrs. Druella Hall conducting the program. Mrs. Virgene Jameson presents ed the lesson. Mrs. Alvaretta Mrs. Lorena Schwab was also on the Happy Birthday list this week. Monday evening the following fol-lowing gathered at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Robinson, to enjoy homemade home-made ice cream and cake: Mr. and Mrs. Alf Bishop, Jay and Jack Johnson, Louis Lang, Mr. and Mrs. George Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Heslington and Richard Schwab. Lorena received many nice gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Arlen (Bud) Carter are parents of their third son, born Feb. 23 at the Iron County Hospital. The little tot who weighed 7 lbs 9 oz also has a sister. Mrs. Carter is the former for-mer Virginia Dennis of Kansas City. This is-the fifth grandchild grand-child for her parents, and the eleventh for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carter and two children of Milford spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter and family r Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robinson Robin-son have the pleasure of announcing an-nouncing the forthcoming marriage mar-riage of a daughter, Genevieve, to Don Forest Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Clark Of Coalville, Coal-ville, Utah. The nuptials will be solemnized in the Salt Lake L D S Temple on March 14th. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson returned re-turned home Sunday after visiting vis-iting in Salt Lake City. While there Mrs. Robinson attended a I shower given her daughter by a missionary companion of Genevieve Gene-vieve who labored with her in the Hawaiian Islands. Mrs. Lois Pearson and children chil-dren are in Minersville, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter. Last week Clyde Evans was guest of honor at a birthday dinner given by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arshal Evans, assisted by Joelene Wood. Among those present were Dorothy Lee, a friend of Clyde from Hurricane; Van Davis and his partner, Ar-lene Ar-lene Stott of Milford; Mrs. Chloe Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Goodwin and children of Cedar City visited vis-ited over the week-end at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goodwin Good-win and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins. Mrs. Idonna Davis returned home from the Beaver County Hospital on Monday, and is greatly improved. Mrs. Eloise Murdock, who suffered suf-fered a severe attack of pneumonia, pneu-monia, is still confined to the Beaver County Hospital, altho her condition is greatly improved. im-proved. Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Lamb were here last week visiting at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray. Mrs. Alba Gillins suffered a hemorrhage of the nose last week, but is in fairly good Health despite her trouble. ' Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre are parents of a son born Feb. 26th at the Iron County Hospital, and weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. This makes the twentieth grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Eyre. The new mother is the former Marybelle Murdock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock of Beaver. |
