Mr. and Mrs. Parley Fisher, who have spent the last two weeks at St. George doing temple tem-ple work, are home for the holidays. holi-days. Both of them were called upon to speak in Sacrament meeting on Dec. 23. All the others who took part in the meeting that night were also in attendance at the temple on Saturday. They were Myrtle Hanson, Roy Myers, John Loft-house Loft-house and June Bartholomew. A Christmas program was given in Sunday School last Sunday morning under the direction di-rection of McCoy Williams. Sun day School superintendent. Chil j dren from the Junior Sundaji Sr'hOol sang "Away in a Man- gei" and "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." Nich-olas." Ann Marie Jones recited a poem and Darwin Rice told a story. Numbers from the Sen ior Sunday School were a retolc story by Phyllis Whil faker and a talk by Emma Smith. The Sanla Claus party frr th children on Christmas Eve ai the L D S Church was well at tended by both children and adults. After Santa led the crowd in singing some Christ mas carols the children marchec. up onto the stage and were given a bag of candy and nuts. The children are reminded that Primary will be held nexi Monday, Dec. 31, which is the day before New Years. It will commence at 2 p. m. instead of at the usual 3:45 p. m. Members of the L D S Church honored two great men in De cember. The birth of Jesus Chiist is commemorated on Dec. 25 and of the Prophet Joseph Smith on Dec. 23. There will be no Mutual held until Jan. 8th. Dorothy Fisher Wed To Cpl Fotheringham j One of the most impressive j weddings ever held in Milford ! occurred on Dec. 15, when Miss Dorothy Lou Ann Fisher, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Fisher, Fish-er, was given in marriage by her father in a beautiful candlelight ceremony at the L D S Church'. On 'that date she became the bride of Cpl. Douglas Farrell I Fotheringham, son of Mr: D. O. Fotheringham. The bride wore a gown of nylon net lace over ivory satin which fell into a full-length train. The fitted bodice was I fastened at the back with tiny self-covered buttons. Her fin-, fin-, gertip veil of white net was edged with wide lace and fell from a tiara of lace and orange blossoms. She carried a bou- cmet of red rosebuds. i She chose as her maid of honor Miss Marjean Whitaker , of Salt Lake City. She wore a j ballerina length gown of pastel shades and wore a corsage of gardenias .and rosebuds. Bridesmaids, dressed in pastel colored formals and carrying matching shades of chrysanthemums, chrysanthe-mums, were Donna Beitz, Jeanette Jean-ette Stoker, Shirley Solomon and Afton Hollis. Wallace Foth-1 Foth-1 eringham, brother of the bride-1 bride-1 groom, was best man. Ushers I were Dick Bracken, Gerald I Stoker, Dick Fisher, and Jack Bockwoldt. Train-bearers were Sharlene Wellington and Gary Tomsik. The ceremony was performed by Elder Ira M. Fisher, uncle of the bride, and took place in the beautifully decorated recreation hall of the L D S Church. The young couple was ljon-ored ljon-ored at a reception immediately following the ceremony. Those in the receiving line besides the bridal party were Louella Fisher, Fish-er, mother of the bride; Helen Wellington and.. D. O. Fother-I Fother-I ingham, sister and father of the ' bridegroom. After a honeymoon in California, Cali-fornia, the rfewlyweds returned to Milford for Christmas, and left on Christmas Day for San Antonio, Texas, where Cpl. Fotheringham will be stationed. |
