Show The U N And You United Nations Week activities, activ-ities, Oct. 21-27, will be spearheaded spear-headed in 1951 by the slogan "Our best hope for peace is UN Plus You." Gustive O. Larson, Southern Utah chairman of Utah Association Associ-ation for the United Nations, calls attention to nation-wide plans to observe the sixth anniversary anni-versary of the founding of the world's greatest organized force for peace. Mr. Larson points out that every cri'sis demonstrates demon-strates that the public has much to learn about the United Nations. Na-tions. Only greater understanding understand-ing can strengthen it for its vital task. Southern Utah communities are urged to plan programs, etc., which will increase understanding under-standing of and appreciation for the nature and functions of the world's government which offers our best hope for permanent per-manent peace. Schools, churches and civic clubs and other organized organ-ized groups are asked to commemorate com-memorate United Nations Week and especially United Nations Day (Oct. 24) by fitting ceremonies ceremo-nies and informative programs. These should be directed towards to-wards enlightening the community com-munity and strengthening it in slpport of the infant organization, organiza-tion, composed of 60 nations, which has already accomplished giant strides toward world cooperation. |
