A FAREWELL get-together was held Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Schiedeman for Mr. and Mrs. James Mayer, who left Saturday Satur-day morning for Fort Sam Houston, Hous-ton, Texas, where Mr. Mayer will be stationed. DARLENE MARIE WALKER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. THe-man THe-man E. Walker of South Mil-ford, Mil-ford, celebrated her- eleventh birthday anniversary on Saturday, Sat-urday, October 6th. Cake, ice cream, punch and candy treats were served to Shanna Thompson, Patricia and Betty Billh, Larry Bentley, Robert Bishop, Deanna and Ronnie Walker, Dorene Applegate, Colleen Col-leen Hutchings and Georgia Beth Smith. Prizes were won by Georgia Beth, Dorene and Colleen. Carole Warlker and Donna Applegate supervised games. THE G I A to the B of L E, Sego Lily Division 500, held the third intermountain meeting , Sept. 29th. 100 members of the intermountain section gathered at the high school gymnasium at 9:30 for registration and for the business meeting, presided over by President Phyllis Erick-son. Sister Ethel Killam was presented pre-sented with a 40-year pin, and Sister Beulah Olsen of Los Angeles An-geles received a 40-year pin. Mayor Kirk welcomed the visiting ladies to Milford, and W. G. White greeted the ladies on behalf of the B of L E. i After a delicious luncheon at the Methodist church, the meeting meet-ing was reconvened at the high school, where the ritual work was presented by the different groups. In the evening, dinner was served by the Methodist Ladies, and then all went to the I O O F hall where a program I' and entertainment was enjoyed by all. MILFORD VALLEY Past Presidents of the G I A to the B of L E motored to Cedar City last Monday and spent the day with Mrs. R. B. Colburn. A very delicious dinner was served to Mrs. A. H. Connell, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. H. G. Barnes, Mrp. Vern Shingleton, Mrs. O. R. Smith and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Hollis. The remainder of the day was spent at a business meeting and visiting. The ladies returned re-turned home in early evening after a very enjoyable day. LAST WEEK-END the Past Presidents of the G I A to the B of L E met at the ranch home of H. G. Barnes for their annual dinner. Dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Vern Shingleton, Mr. and Mrs. Jame P. Holm, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Connell, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. White, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. I Colburn, Mrs. R. E. Banks, Mrs. Kenneth Hollis, Mrs. Ethel Killam Kil-lam and Mrs. Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Erickson were invited invit-ed guests. A very enjoyable time was ' had by all. I . . WEDNESDAY, Oct. 3rd, a stork shower was given in honor of Mrs. Barbara W. Mayer, at the South Milford Community Clubhouse, by Mrs. Theman Walker. Those taking part on the program were Wanda Munk, Helen Gillins, Opal Walker, Evelyn Mayer, Clara Schiedeman, Schiede-man, and Zelma Alger as master mas-ter of ceremonies. I Cootie was the game played, : with prizes going to Clara Schiedeman and Mrs. Verdon H. DeLeuw. Refreshments were served in the late afternoon. Barbara received many lovely gifts. THE WOMEN and friends of the Church of the Nazarene met at the home of Mrs. Lois Moore on Oct. 9 to mend, pre,ss and box the used clothing contributed contrib-uted for the Navajo Indians. The day was indeed a busy one as the ladies prepared and boxed 284 pounds of clothing, valued at about $200. The glothing is being shipped immediately imme-diately to the Gold Tooth Nazarene Naz-arene Mission at Tuba City, j Ariz., in the heart of the Navajo Na-vajo Reservation. The ladies of the church extend ex-tend their thanks to all the friends who made the shipment possible and to those who helped sort, press and box the clothing; also those ,who contributed contrib-uted cash for transportation and other items. At noon a covered dish dinner din-ner was served with Lois' chicken chick-en dinner. After each one had tried to be kind and taste something some-thing of every dish brought, the ladies topped off with delicious lemon chiffon pie made by Mrs. Treat, and felt more than full. But the ladies weren't permitted permit-ted to quit eating then, for out came two birthday cakes with lighted candles, and a chorus started singing "Happy Birthday" Birth-day" to Mrs. Longacre, whose birth anniversary it was. From 2 to 3 p. m. a missionary mission-ary program was held, and the 1 work of the Nazarene church among the Indian tribes was I explained. . ' ! This was the third annual get-together to prepare clothing for the needy Indians. VICTORY REBEKAH Lodge No. 43 met at the I O O F hall Wednesday evening, Oct. 3rd. Frances Kinross, noble grand, presided over the meeting. Elva Sedgwick, district deputy dep-uty president, gave a short history his-tory of the Rebekah lodge in the Stte of Utah, which was enjoyed by all present. Sister Elva also held a school of instruction in-struction for the lodge members. mem-bers. ON SEPT. 27th Mrs. J. R. Murdock entertained her bridge ' club members and guests. A luncheon was served by Mrs. Murdock in the early part of the evening, after which bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. R. J. Magill, Mrs. Harold Cline, and Mrs. Gene Kirk. Others present were Mrs. George Moore of Provo, Mrs. William Cochrane, Mrs. Kenneth Archer, Arch-er, Mrs. J. H. Weston and Mrs. I E. L. Smith. LAST WEDNESDAY at the home of Mrs. Maudell Crane the ' following ladies played bridge: Mrs. Phyllis Keetch, Mrs. Al-verta Al-verta Goodwin, Mrs. Dorothy . Morris, Mrs. Mabel Westergard, I Mrs. Toni Uffens, Mrs. Dorothy 1 Kizer, Mrs. Mildred Coon and I Mrs. Ina Norton.
