Show MILFORD LIONS TO STRESS MORE CLUB ACTIVITIES Only nine Lions turned out for last week's regular meeting held in St. Bridget's Hall, and those who were out of town or absent for other reasons missed an excellent prime rime dinner served by Father Valine and the ladies. They also missed a very spirited meeting, as the mem bers who were present made up in enthusiasm what they lacked in numbers. Discussion revolved mainly j around "rejuvenating" the local club, and methods of adminis-1 tering "a shot of energy" to! wake the club up to the obliga-i;'is obliga-i;'is of Lions as individuals and as a club, and the benefits accruing to the community v.hch has an active organization. organiza-tion. Vance Fisher, 1951-5.2 zone chairman, made a brief talk, and Dr. Eugene Davie reported that Milford is "far ahead of the rest of the state" in the blood typing program. He cited several instances in which the immediate availabilty of a person's per-son's blood type has proved of great value in tne emergency treatment of persons in this area. About 450 persons nave been typed in Milford to date which represents more than one-fourth of the total population. .The program continues each Monday Mon-day from 8 to 9 p. m., at the Beaver County Clinic. Dr. Davie Da-vie stated that persons who are unable to visit the clinic on Monday evenings may make arrangements ar-rangements at his office to be typed at a more convenient tjme. |
