Show FOUR-H CLUBS ENJOY OUTING AT DUCK CREEK More than 119 4-H club members mem-bers and chaperones attended the Beaver County 4-H club encampment en-campment which was held at Duck Creek on July 9, 10 and 11. Ideal weather prevailed during the entire encampment and a good time was had by all. Yvonne Stott of Beaver was elected Mayor and Gayle Tol-ley Tol-ley of Milrora, Secretary, at the elections held Monday night. The following members were elected to committee posts: Program committee, David Williams Wil-liams of Minersville, chairman; Carma Woodhouse, Beaver; and Sandra Johnson, Milford. Clean Camp Deon Lofthouse, Milford, Mil-ford, chaiman; Wilma Aagard, Milford, and Phyllis Morgan, Beaver. Recreation Betsy Fillmore, Beaver, chairman; Colleen Hutchings and Darma Lofthouse, Milford. Flag Raising Rais-ing Boyd Yardley and Cliff Yardley, Beaver, and DoWayne Alger, Milford. Camp otiiti-r-Sally Killam and Car 1 V'r.'k-er, V'r.'k-er, Milford; Frances Stott, Boyd Yardley, D. J. Smith and Cliff Yardley, Beaver; Gordon Eyre, Minersville, and Mary Jane McCulley, Milford. David Sharp Jr., state 4-H club leader for the U S A C Extension Service, attended and helped supervise the camp I Prizes in the awards program I held Wednesday were awarded I to the following: Program winnersSkits,- three clubs won honors in this event, the Silver Robin Club of South Milford, led by Zelma Alger; Round Robin club of South Milford, led by Bernice Smith and Elva Lofthouse, and Charm club of Beaver, chaperoned by Mildred Yardley. Group song Clover Cooking Cook-ing club of Milford, chaperoned by Mrs. Wayne Lyman. Clean Camp contest, Busy Bees of Beaver, led by Ella Firmage and Vilda Esplin, first; second, a group made up of three clubs, J the Tasty Teasers, Stitch and I Bake, and Busy Bee club of Milford, Mil-ford, chaperoned by Anna McCulley Mc-Culley and Mrs. Diane McCulley. McCul-ley. For participation in all events and attendance at all meetings the following three clubs scored 100: The Charm Club of Beaver, Bea-ver, Round Robin Club of South Milford, and the Old Maid Sewing Society of Beaver chaperoned chap-eroned by Yvonne Stott and Carma Woodhouse. Smith spent 10 days in Southern California, Cali-fornia, visiting Harry and Kath-erine Kath-erine Forgie and other friends. Last Friday, "Speck" spent the last day of his vacation fishing in Beaver Canyon. |
