Miss Dorothy Myers, daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. Victor Myers, has been nominated as candidate for Junior Prom Queen by her class at Beaver High School. A few friends of Andy and Lola Bohn gathered at their home Monday night and spent the evening visiting and playing play-ing cards. Mrs. Delia Allenson and son and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Allenson. and daughter, of Eureka, Mrs. Dorothy Lemon and daughter of Tooele, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Puffer and family of North Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thomas of Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Gale of Beaver, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl' Banks. Primary officers are making final preparations for conference, confer-ence, which will be held the last Sunday in April. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Banks, and Mr. George LeFevre attended funeral services for Mrs. Mary DeLong at Panguitch on Monday. Mon-day. Mr. John Patrick and Mrs. Delroy Craw were baptized into the church Saturday afternoon aft-ernoon and confirmed at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. McKenzie of Salt Lake are spending a few days at Minersville, visiting relatives. The Minersville MIA presented pre-sented a one-act play Tuesday. evening in the schoolhouse. A play under direction of Mrs. Thora Beeson of Beaver also was .presented. Mrs. Arlen Carter, who is this year's census taker for Minersville, Miners-ville, has completed four days training at Beaver and has now begun her work at Minersville. Mrs. Liza Roberts and family of Lyman, Wyo., visited this week with Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Myers, her sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Myers of Milford enjoyed family dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. Myers' parents, Mr. and Mrs. '"Victor Myers. Mr. Harold Pryor visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor, briefly on Tuesday. Mr. Newell Carter and Mr. Dick Davis are doing spring painting in various parts of this end of the state, for the Utah Oil Company. At present they are in Cedar City. Mrs. Dick Davis and daughter daugh-ter Kathleen, of Orem, are spending a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter. Little Douglas Albrecht celebrated cele-brated his seventh pirthday on Friday. Many little friends were present to help make his birthday a happy one. k NEWS NOTES FROM MINERSVILLE By MRS. The four sons of Mrs. Ada Garrett, from Salt Lake City, are here spending their spring vacation with their grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Roberts. Rob-erts. Mrs. Marguerite Eyre of Mil-ford Mil-ford spent Saturday visiting at the home of her brother, Del-mer Del-mer Gray, and family. The parents of Mrs. Spencet Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Gentry of Beaver enjoyed a family dinner Sunday at the J home of Mrs. Roberts. I Mrs. Oscar Stephenson of Cedar City visited her sisters and mother over the week-end. Mrs. Lola Bohn left Tuesday for Salt Lake City, where she will undergo an operation. Jfr Mrs. Jennie Carter, who is serving an L D S mission in Ox-nard, Ox-nard, Calif., suffered a heart attack at-tack last week. Her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Smith of Beaver, left immediately for California. Mrs. Carter has been released from a hospital but is confined to her bed. . Mr. Beryl Roberts,- son c$ Mr. and Mrs. Lester Roberts, underwent a tonsillectomy Wednesday Wed-nesday at the Iron County Hospital. Hos-pital. Mrs. Nettie Myers accompanied ac-companied Mrs. Leona Roberts Rob-erts and Beryl to Cedar City on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Jameson Jam-eson left Thursday for Salt Lake City to attend the Quarterly Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Davis and family spent Monday at Beaver Beav-er visiting Mrs. Davis' grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Frank Cartwright, who is ill. Mrs. Rex Carter of Beaver is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers. The Lloyd Mathews' have a y new automobile. Mrs. Rachel Eyre returned from Salt Lake City the last of the week. The following persons have made noticeable improvements in their surroundings, as noted by the News' Minersville editor: ed-itor: The Herb Eyres have torn down the old barber shop, which improved the appearance of Main street. I The Frank Williams' have a new partition fence. The Fay Marshalls are hauling haul-ing topsoil for new lawns. The Neal Davises have a new fence and are preparing the ground for a new lawn. Horace Carter has a new out-v out-v side fence. " William Bradshaw has a new outside fence. The Newell Carters have built a trellis fence in their lot, and cut down all the old shrubs in front of their home. . The James Eyres have removed re-moved a large tree from their premises. These people are to be commended, com-mended, and it is hoped that many others will follow suit and join in the competition to beautify their homes and sur- I roundings and thereby win a ' prize.
