Show NEW BAC CATALOGS READY FOR STUDENTS Copies of the 1948-49 catalog of Branch Agricultural College are being mailed out to those requesting re-questing them ,it was announced by Dr. H. Wayne Driggs, director direc-tor of the college. Listing over 100 new courses added this year, the new catalog is larger than any previous edition. edi-tion. Most of the new courses are those on the third and fourth year level in education and related re-lated subjects. Upper division courses have also been added in agriculture. Classes for freshmen and sophomores listed this year for the first time include one in photography, another in creative writing, one in backgrounds of literature, and survey courses in biological, exact and social sciences. ' - The photography course will be given beginning with the autumn quarter. A new set of darkrooms will be used for the course. Cameras and darkroom equipment will be furnished by the college. Taught by George L. LeBaron, instructor in physics, the course will be limited to those seriously interested in photography. The creative writing course will be an introduction to all types of writing, including the short story, magazine articles, drama, poetry and special forms One project will be publication of a magazine by the class. In the backgrounds of literature litera-ture class, early forms such' as folk tales, legends, hero stories and the literary aspects of the new courses include subjects all the way from Roman History to personal finance. |
