The commissioner com-missioner has just returned from a two-week trip to Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Bud) Carson of Salt Lake City were in Milford last weex-end on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Albert will leave Friday for a month's vacation at Elkhart, Ind., where ! they will visit with a son and j daughter, Eari and Berniece. I They also will visit a son-in-law and daughter, Capt. and Mrs.' Warden Harmes, at Omaha, Neb. MRS. JIM SMITHSON entertained enter-tained her bridge club this week, with the tables being decorated dec-orated with Halloween favors. Mrs. Smithson won high point prize, Mrs. Flossie Ricker-son, Ricker-son, Mrs. Cora Jones, consolation, consola-tion, Mrs. Theressa Pitchforth, high house prize, and Mrs. Gar-netta Gar-netta Hollis, low house prize. MRS. ELLA EDWARDS entertained en-tertained at a costume Halloween Hallow-een party last Wednesday evening, eve-ning, for members of her sewing sew-ing club. Those who enjoyed the Halloween Hal-loween frolic were Mrs. Warren Atkin, Mrs. Fern McGinn, Mrs. Ruby Ashworth, Mrs. Zola Whitesides, Mrs. Lucille White, Mrs. Mary McCulley, Mrs. Millie Mil-lie Harris, Mrs. Melba White. A luncheon was served before midnite. MRS. JANE FIRMAGE had as her guests Wednesday evening eve-ning Mrs. Helene Rummler, Mrs. Billie Stoker, Mrs. Lillian Mel-lor, Mel-lor, Mrs. June Thompson, Mrs. Marjorie Schramm, Mrs. Carol Stewart, Mrs. Mary Gribble and Mrs. Bobbie James. Pinochle was played during the evening, with Mrs. Thompson Thomp-son winning high prize, and Mrs. Stewart, second high . A delicious lunch was served by the hostess at midnite. MR. AND MRS. Harry England Eng-land of Oakland, Calif., have been enjoying a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones the past 10 days. Mrs. England is an aunt of Mrs. Jones and formerly made her home in Milford, working in the homes of the Tanners and Stod-dards., Stod-dards., and in the old Williams Hotel. Mrs. England was very favorably fav-orably impressed with the many changes that have been made in Milford since she lived here, and "could hardly believe" that it was the same old Milford. While here they enjoyed a very pleasant visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eb Tanner, old-time old-time friends of Mrs. England. They were also welcomed by many other former friends and relatives. On Monday they left for Beaver to enjoy a week's ' visit with relatives and friends, I Other members present were Mrs. Nina Bingham, and Mrs. Bertha Hickman. : MRS. BILL BAKER was hostess host-ess at the regular meeting of her , sewing club, last Thursday. The ladies spent the afternoon j sewing, and late in the day de- j licious lunch was served to Mrs. ! Jean Pitchforth, Mrs. Dick Jones, Mrs. J. N. Openshaw, Mrs. Eb Tanner, Mrs. Dave Tanner, Tan-ner, Mrs. Joe Tribole and Mrs. Des Hickman . ' MRS. ALICE C. COLE of Los Angeles, Calif., Deputy Grand Lodge officer of the Ladies Auxiliary Aux-iliary to the B. of R. T., was in Milford on Tuesday, Oct. 21, to assist in the initiation of six new members into Rocky Mountain Lodge No. 841. Mrs. Aleen Smith of Salt Air Lodge No. 494 also was a visitor. vis-itor. Mrs. Wilma Rasmussen of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Myrtle Mills of Lynndyl, members of the local lodge, were here for the meeting in the afternoon. A dinner and card party in the evening was arranged by the committee and given at the home of Mrs. Rowena Winn. Thirty-four guests attended. The new members honored were Mrs. Mable Westergard, Mrs. Ray Anderson, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Mahoney, Mrs. Alverta Goodwin, Mrs. Phyllis Keetch. and Mrs. lone Roberts. Also honored were Mrs. Maudell Crane, Mrs. Maxine Bohart and Mrs. Norma Yount, new members mem-bers initiated at an earlier meeting. |
