Show Diesel heavy mechanics offered at UTC Diesel and Heavy Duty Mechanics Me-chanics will be among several new classes for beginning students stu-dents scheduled to start January Janu-ary 6 at Utah Tecffhnica! Col-lge Col-lge in Provo, according to President Pres-ident Wilson W. Sorensen. New students may begin the two-year diesel program, said President Sorensen, without waiting for the start of school again next fall. At the end of the two-year six-quarter course, graduates will receive a certificate of proficiency pro-ficiency qualifying them to begin work as a thrid-year apprentice. ap-prentice. Utah Technical College Col-lege graduates will have to serve only two years apprenticeship appren-ticeship in the trade instead of the customary four before becoming journeymen. Students may take only the diesel course for which they obtain ob-tain their certificates of proficiency pro-ficiency on graduation, or they may take certain other optional academic classes and get the Utah Technical College two-year two-year associate degree. The academic aca-demic classes are entirely optional. |
