Show Modern, traditional heard at Literary Club The beautifully decorated home of Jessie Dalton formed the setting for the annual Christmas program and party f the Ladies Literary Club held on Thursday. An enticing tray lunch was served to 15 club members. On each tray, members found a miniature manger scene as a favor for the holiday event. Bertha Johnson, president, welcomed members. Carrie Gammell gave the club collect. The program was presented by the two talented children of new club member, Clella Winkle. Win-kle. Her daughter, Toni, who is attending the BYTJ, played the piano and sang. A son, Gary, who is teaching in Payson, played guitar selections and joined his sister in vocal numbers-. They gave new versions ot Christmas songs and also presented new songs in the modern mo-dern mannei. All club members joined them in singing "Silent Night " Other traditional numbers on the program included the giving giv-ing of the Nativity from Luke by Jessie Dalton. Julia Sum-sion Sum-sion played a medley of Christmas Christ-mas carols. Members exchanged gifts and the hostess served fruit cake, eggnog and candy at the conclusion of the lovely party. President Johnson expressed ex-pressed her thanks to all who had participated and assisted. |
