Show Kennecott leases land for boys ranch The Utah Copper Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation today announced a dollar-a-year lease of 140 acres of land and two buildings near Tooele, Utah, to the Pine Canyon Ranch for Boys. The acreage, valued at $50,-000, $50,-000, will be utilized as a rehabilitation re-habilitation center for unwanted unwant-ed and delinquent youths in a program developed by the Pine Canyon Ranch for Boys, Inc., a non-profit organization in Utah. Purpose of the ranch is to provide young boys with a home where qualified parent couples will serve as counselors in developing a normal family atmosphere. The program will offer incentive toward education educa-tion and opportunity to attend school in Tooele. Job training will he provided at the Tooele Army Depot along with counseling coun-seling for job placement in state business and industry. The ranch is intended to be self-supporting by having the youths undertake farming and the raising of livestock. The Kennecott lease was presented pre-sented by J. P. O'Keefe, division di-vision general manager, to Mr. James Ivers, Jr., president of the ranch board of trustees. |
