They went in their camper truck and were accompanied by Mr .and Mrs. Tom Averett of Sprlng-ville Sprlng-ville and Leona Wilson and her daughter Laurie. An interesting highlight was a swim in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Wheeler. Springville, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Thomas of Provo. army at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Last Saturday Mrs. Zora Hales was hostess at a bridal shower given in honor of her niece Annette Draper of Gen-ola. Gen-ola. Aunts and cousins and immediate im-mediate close friends of the bride showered her with lovely personal gifts. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Reid Hales that their son Raymond is now serving serv-ing with the 101st Airborn division div-ision at Php Bia in Vietnam. Kay and Jean Bills and family fam-ily are home again after a two-week two-week vacation to Southern California Cali-fornia where they spent a wonderful won-derful vacation seeing Disneyland, Disney-land, Marineland, the beach and Knotts Berry Farm. They spent several days with the Floyd Tuttle's and Ted Bills and faril-i faril-i Jl.. . . , . ,. .'. Twenty one Cub Scouts from the Mapleton First Ward had a , thrilling ride in an airplane over Utah Valley last Wednesday. Wednes-day. The plane circled over Payson east toward the mountains moun-tains and over Mapleton where most of them were able to see their homes from the air, Nelda. Leifson, Sharon Bagley and ' Karen Snow made arrangements arrange-ments for the plane trip with Provo Airport Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones enjoyed a trip through Yellowstone Yellow-stone last week on their way to Lander, Wyoming where they stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Seip. They came home byway by-way of Flaming Gorge. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robinson Robin-son and Rowen Palmer were invited in-vited to a cook out last week sponsored by the Lion's CluSi for the visually handicapped. The group was also treated to an entertaining program. Mr .and Mrs. LaMar Averett and two children have returned return-ed from a three week trip to Old Mexico. They spent two weeks touring the Washington-Oregon coasts and report fabulous fishing in some of the rivers. Mrs. Cleo Coffman of Richland, Rich-land, Washington, Mrs. Neva Stringer of British Columbia and Iris Cleghorn of Bellview, Washington have been visiting the Steven Kennedy's and other relatives In this area. They also attended a family reunion in Aurora last week before returning return-ing home. Mrs. Louise L. Jackman of Magna has been recuperating from surgery at the home of her mother Mrs. Ruby Lessard. Ruby has been grandmothering three grndchilden for a week for the .lackman's. I was delighted to see Martha Mar-tha Houtz hame from California. Califor-nia. Mrs. Houtz went to Fairfield Fair-field to stay with a daughter LaVeta Gregerson and while there suffered a heart attack which kept her much longer than she expected to stay. She is at her own home "just puttering put-tering around" and very glad to be back. Lion's Club officers for the. coming year were officially installed in-stalled last Thursday during a meeting at the Oak Crest Inn. Lynn Houtz will serve as president pres-ident with Antone Winkel, Blaine Hales and Dan Brinker-hoff, Brinker-hoff, vice presidents. Keith Roylance is secretary, Porter Leavitt Tail Twister and Reid Hales Lion Tamer. It is also noted that Lynn Bjarnson will serve in the new cabinet as zone chairman and Keith Roylance Roy-lance wjii he over the care; program.
