Show Eileen H. Bird Eileen H. Bird dies suddenly; services Friday Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Springville Spring-ville Stake House for Eileen Harrison Har-rison Bird, 57, who died Tuesday Tues-day morning, June 24, 1969, at Utah Valley hospital of a cerebral cer-ebral hemhorage. She suffered the attack Monday. Directing the funeral services will be Bishop James Sumsion of the Fifth ward. Friends may call this evening at the Springville Spring-ville Stake House Relief Society So-ciety Room from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 'from 12 noon until time of services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Born January 23, 1912 in Meadow, Utah, she was the daughter of Lewis E. and Clara Stewart Harrison. Shortly after her birth she came with her parents to Springville where she has since resided. She received her schooling here. She married Lewis Bird Dec. 21, 1929 with the ceremony being be-ing solemnized later in the Salt Lake Temple. An accomplished musician, she played the violin since she was 12 years old. Her talent was shared with countless people as she played at weddings, wed-dings, funerals, civic and church entertainments through-,her through-,her life. She not only played her violin, but was a music director and served as ward chorister for many years. She was chorister for the Springville Spring-ville Stake baptismal services. At the time of her death she was serving as president of the Fifth Ward Relief Society. She was also president of the Springville High School PTA. She had been president of the YWMIA and taught in the Primary. Pri-mary. Active in civic and club af-fars, af-fars, she served as president of the Springville Federated Music club and had been a member of another club at one time. She was librarian for the Utah Valley Symphony Orchestra Orches-tra and had been a member of this group for many years. She belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was always willing to aid her neighbors or friends with a kind word and many times would take one of her tasty pies, doughnuts or home made bread to them regardless of where they lived in the city. Mrs. Bird is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters: Jim H., Maple-ton; Maple-ton; J. Douglas, Pleasanton, Calif.; B. Blake, Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. Leon (Barbara) Lee; Brenda, Eric and Mary Ann all of Springville; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Idona Lucas, Spanish Span-ish Fork; Irving Harrison, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Sam (Norma) Pedro, Midvale; Damon, of Page. Arizona. |
