Show Accident claims Ray Weight-services Weight-services held Funeral services foi Ray L. Weight, 63, who was killed in a motorcycle-truck accident June 5, 1969, were held Monday in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel. Cha-pel. Burial was in the Spring-ville Spring-ville Evergreen Cemetery. The accident happened when he was reportedly struck by a pickup truck at 1300 East Center Cen-ter as he was riding his motorbike motor-bike going east to his home at 1347 East Center. The pickup truck was driven by Jeanie Payne, 16 of 937 South 800 E.. Springville. Mr. Weight suffered multiple fractures of the legs and one arm. He was rushed to the Utah Valley Hospital, where he died at 10:30 p.m. The accident acci-dent occurred around 7 p.m. Investigating In-vestigating officer was Irwin (Butch) Curtis of the Springville Spring-ville Police Department. Ray Lavon Weight was born Nov. 11, 1905 in Springville, a son of Joseph Lorenzo and Ida Rowland Weight. He never married. Mr. Weight was an Elder in the LDS Church. He engaged in farming most of his life, and at the time of his death was in charge of poultry on the LDS Church welfare farm west of Springville. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fred (Blanche) Hansen of Salt Lake City. |
